About Us

A small Tokyo team with two home ports.

Aloha Works began in Honolulu in 2000 and opened its Tokyo office in 2010. Today we serve more than 50 companies on monthly contracts — municipalities included — with a compact team of producers, engineers, and designers. Small enough to move fast for a market-entry phase; certified and disciplined enough to be trusted with public infrastructure.

Founder and CEO Takeshi Ambiru grew up between Tokyo, a Chinese school, Oregon, and Hawaii — working across cultures isn't a service we added, it's how the company started. He personally leads onboarding for every advisory engagement.

Before you write to us.

Will everything really be in English?

Yes — or Japanese, or both, whichever your team prefers. Many clients run English with their HQ and Japanese with local staff at the same time; contracts and reports are available in either language. The vendor-side Japanese always happens on our side.

Can our HQ pay in USD?

Standard invoicing is in JPY from your Japan entity — no international wire fees, and easier for your local accountant. Representative offices without a Japan bank account can be invoiced in USD with a semi-annual FX adjustment clause.

We already have a web agency. Does this still make sense?

Yes. Plans don't require moving your site to us. We can advise alongside your current agency — and if you later decide to consolidate, the handover is the kind of work we do routinely.

What are your support hours?

Japanese business hours (JST) — which is your night shift. Incidents on your Japan site are typically resolved before your HQ's morning. Premium adds a priority incident queue.

Is there a minimum term?

Six months for Essential and Standard, twelve for Premium. Founding client pricing is available for early adopters — ask us.

Who actually answers our messages?

A bilingual advisor who knows your account — not a ticket queue. Our founder personally leads onboarding for every engagement.
